I'm getting the above error only in IE which makes the script fail to load only in IE!

Users who use IE therefore can not use the script while other users (Chrome, FF) don't get this problem.

The strange thing is, if I put in a link for IE users to click to refresh the page, it then works OK for them!

Can someone please help me find a workaround to this IE problem as I'm totally lost.

You can see it working best here...

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

Hi,

I looked at the site with FF and IE8 and didn't see the error. What has to happen to cause it?

If you ever stop learning you may as well dig a hole, crawl in and pull the top over yourself.

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

Hi,

When I visit the page in IE, I get this message in the box where the map is at the top...

loading quote engine...

and the error is thrown, if I click the link in the message it then loads correctly and I can enter a quote.

If I use Chrome or FF it loads the quote engine first time.

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

Still cant see your error...

Well I looked at it with FF and Fire Bug.

Load the page, press F12 and reload shows numerous JS warnings and errors and this error:

ReferenceError: GlocalSearch is not defined
[Break On This Error]

var localSearch = new GlocalSearch();

Looks like maybe GlocalSearch should be GlobalSearch?

Not sure if it is causing your error or not in IE..

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

Hi

I've done a couple of screen captures, one in IE8, one in Chrome.

IE8 you see at the top the "loading..." followed by the link.

but in Chrome it just loads normally.

The Glocal is correct it stands for G Local Search or Google Local Search used to find postcodes.

IE8 Not workie

Chrome Working OK

Do you get what I see, or are you saying you do not get the error on IE8 and it works for you...?

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

I do not get any errors in IE8. Yes it works for me...

When I go to the page with IE8 the loading message and link show but then it loads the "Get a quick quote" portion without using the link. Have you changed something?

I just tried the page with Safari and it nover loads...

Also tried a browser named "Maxthon" and it works.

I assume you have tried it on other PCs or laptops...

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

Wow, IE is trouble! Can't understand why this happens to me and not you?

I haven't changed anything the past few days, still trying to track down the bug but its not easy.

Haven't got Safari, so can't test that.

Thanks for the help, don't understand IE at the best of times! LOL

Re: IE Only Error - Object doesn't support this property or method

please have a look on my blogpost:
http://blog.platzh1rsch.ch/2012/09/xaja … oblem.html

i had the same error and solved it by editing the xajax js source.

the blogpost is in german... but it still should be understood by anyone because it mainly contains javascript.
